Glossy Black-Cockatoo Recovery Plan

Recovery Plan for the South-eastern Glossy Black-Cockatoo
The South-eastern Glossy Black-Cockatoo is a rare and vulnerable species facing serious threats across its fragmented eastern Australian range. A new national Recovery Plan is being developed to change that—uniting scientists, conservationists, governments, and community groups in a shared mission to secure the bird’s future.
This collaborative plan will tackle habitat loss, fire regimes, and other key threats, drawing on the latest research, local knowledge, and new habitat mapping. It’s not just a document—it’s a roadmap for action.
Stay connected as we shape the plan, share our findings, and launch the tools that will guide on-ground recovery across states and regions.
